Take Great Photos

Get your costume sold faster!

We recommend:

• Using natural lighting
• Use a plain background
• Avoid clutter
• Hang or lay flat neatly

Photos to Include:

• Front view of the costume
• Back view
• Close up of embellishments or details
• Label or maker tags
• Any faults
• Stage photo (optional, but great for buyers to see it in action). Note: Please cover the child's face with a sticker or emoji

Measurements

Dance costumes vary hugely by maker, so measurements help buyers get the best fit.

Helpful measurements to include:

Costumes

• Bust
• Waist
• Hips
• Girth/torso length

Shoes

• Length of sole
• Size on label
• Brand (Capezio, Bloch etc.)

Tip: Lay the costume flat and place a tape measure across the area you are measuring. Take a clear photo.

Sell Safely

Location & Safety

• Only list your town or area (e.g. “Ascot”, “Surrey”)
• Do NOT include your home address
• Share full details privately once a sale is agreed

When your item sells the buyer pays securely through the platform

• You receive a notification
• Package your item.
  • Use a padded envelope or box
  • Protect rhinestones with tissue paper
• Ship the item using InPost, Evri or Royal Mail within 3 working days
• Once delivered, your payment is released
• All payments are processed securely to protect both buyers and sellers.

Delivery & Collection

Sellers and buyers arrange delivery or collection directly. You can choose either or both when listing your item. This may include:

• Local collection
• Posting via courier (see links above to recommended couriers)

Once you have shipped your costume, be sure to note the tracking number if you charged for tracking. Send the tracking number to the buyer in your transaction conversation on Second Spotlight.

Payments

Buyers:

• Pay securely through the platform.
• Once you receive your item go into your inbox and click item received. This will trigger payment to the seller. Do not do this BEFORE you have received your item

Sellers:

• You can list without adding payout details
• BUT You’ll need to add them before someone can purchase your item

Search made easy!

Buyers can easily search and filter by:

• Dance style
• Costume or shoe size
• Brand
• Price
• Condition
• Colour and more...

This makes it far easier to find the exact costume you need, without scrolling through endless Facebook posts.
